Beris Ported Curb Gag

The Curb Gag - based on similar concepts to a running gag, but instead of using poll pressure it is replaced with chin / curb pressures. Using a second rein acts with slight leverage spreading pressure evenly on the lower jaw, bars and lip and is generally well accepted by horses. It allows a "letting go" of the curb chain by the rider for more freedom of the jaw. The pressure on the jaw can be tightened as needed.
The top rein on the other hand works like a 3 ring gag still allowing the rider to use poll pressure with out over exerting causing an over bend. This bit is great for strong horses that have are very eager in to a fence.

The Ported Mouthpiece - This bit can be placed perfectly in the horse's mouth. The horse's tongue gets enough space because of the flattened area on the port. Many horses react to this with more relaxation and chewing. Therefore this bit is perfect for horses that won't tolerate pressure on the tongue and react with head shaking and such.

At the same time this bit is a good choice for horses that like to play with their tongue and get it over the bit. The port will help to prevent that by removing centre tongue pressure.
